I've been working as a Software Tester for 6 years. During all of this time, I was involved in manual testing. But when needed, I did some coding to help my tests. For me, testing is all about getting your hands dirty and diving deep into the product. When I first started my career, my intention was to become a developer. But when learned about testing, I decided that it was what I wanted to do. In my previous job, I did UI automation for our weekly regression tests using Webdriver.io and JS. I enjoy coding occasionally, but I feel much better when I get to test the product myself. I see coding and automation as a tool that supports my work whenever I need it. For me, testing is not just a job. I didn't start start my tester career as a job, it was already how I was living my life. So it's more like a way of living for me. Some people use the term "Putting on my testing hat...", which I find a little weird. For me, it's not something I can turn off. I also like learning new thing and I'm good adapting to new technologies once I get to start working on it. That's why I usually don't spend much time on memorizing theoretical knowledge, I'm much more of a hands on guys. And I live diving deep into a problem until I figure out why.
