Experienced Mid-to-senior Software Developer specialized in Python backend development and AWS cloud engineering. I'm looking to take the next step in my career and to grow in Backend development using Python frameworks, Cloud architecture and DevOps. Most of my experience has been in Docspert Health, a **healthtech startup** in Egypt where I have spent the last 3-4 years. I started with them since their founding and I have been responsible for designing, building, deploying and maintaining all of their systems and infrastructure. I started as the sole developer in Docspert, then I was asked to hire a team of fullstack developers. I have been responsible for recruiting as well as managing, leading and mentoring Docspert's technology team. I learned and implemented advanced and complex technologies as our company grew; the technical tasks that I had to do became more and more complex over time. I mastered developing web applications using **Flask + MySQL + SQLAlchemy** and **Django + PostgreSQL**. I learned so much about using **AWS** and deploying secure, scalable and highly-available applications in the cloud. I recently started preparing for the **AWS Certification** exams with my 3 years of hands-on experience. I earned my first certificate in July 2023 and aiming to earn my second in August 2023. I gained a lot of experience as a **DevOps** engineer. As the most senior developer, I had to build our development pipelines to automatically test, integrate and deploy code on our staging and production servers. I used Docker and Docker Compose to run and manage containers on my servers. I mastered using Github Actions and combining it with some Bash and Python scripts to build effective CI/CD pipelines that worked nicely with the team's development flow. Other skills that I gained and technologies that I learned: Nginx, Celery, Redis, React, Vue, Selenium, PHP, Laravel, WordPress, Twilio, SendGrid. Overall, taking on a leadership role during these 4 years with Docspert has really put me in a position to learn and apply new skills and technologies and taught me a lot about building higher quality software and deploying it to the cloud. The biggest project I worked on was Docspert's health-tech system. I built a secure system for online medical consultations and deployed it to the cloud. The system handled 1000 consultations, 800 patients and 250 doctors. I also built a scalable website and blog that reached 1.2M monthly visitors. We achieved four 9s website availability (99.99% uptime) and a perfect 100 Google Page Speed score and 92 SEO score. The software and tools that I built helped the startup scale up and grow. I have also been an active member in their management meetings. My ideas and contributions to the discussion had a direct positive impact on the directions the company took and the choices they made. I would say that I, as the most senior technology employee, have helped Docspert grow and succeed as a startup through my contributions, both as a software developer and as an active and participating employee in forming the company direction. I think my colleagues and coworkers would say that I'm good with thinking creatively, coming up with solutions that are kinda unorthodox and that I communicate my thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively. My fellow engineer/developer colleagues would say that I'm good at problem solving and troubleshooting issues and that I have a pretty good grasp around web development and software architecture concepts. My team members would say that I'm a compassionate and empathetic leader and that I strictly strive for great quality code and software.
