Developer by day, programmer by night. I obtained a master of science in civil engineering (computer science) and participated - together with several teams - in programming contests and hackathlons. I answer questions on StackOverflow on a daily basis and wrote courses on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Electronics. I am mainly interested in Haskell, Python, and Prolog. I worked as a researcher in the field of hyperheuristics (artificial intelligence), a teaching assistant in computer science and as a data scientist and technical lead developer in an AI startup. During my spare time I developed small (and larger) projects to help with daily routine. For me, a computer should aim to automate everything that is boring, such that one can pay more attention to what is interesting in life. After each session, I aim to write a document (usually within one week) that describes what we discussed. I am a Full Stack Web Wizard with experience in a wide range of technologies. Over the last couple of years, I've been involved in projects for various clients like the European Commission, NSHQ (NATO), Adobe, AS Adventure Group, NS (Dutch railways), Proximus and Mediagenix. Through We Are Orange, organizations are provided with technological answers to complex issues. In doing so, we never lose sight of the goal of the client. Meanwhile, I've developed my own product: Pedrillo. It’s a SASS solution for music orchestra’s to manage their musicians, events, library, etc. In my free time, I play the double bass and drums or cross the forest on my mountain bike. I like spending time with my wife and two kids or meeting friends for a chat, game or drink. When I still have some time left, I mainly spend it behind my computer to fulfill my hunger for the latest trends in IT.
