**The Opportunity:
**We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead the core site experience team at Caraway Home. This role will report directly to the Director of Engineering, manage a team of developers, and help to stand up our first engineering pods. You will work closely with the cross-functional Digital Product team to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience. As the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring technical solutions are scalable, performant, and meet all stakeholder requirements. You will ensure the core experience team can execute on tasks efficiently to meet product requirements and participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle including strategy, development, testing and sprint planning. You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching development team members to help spur their professional growth.
**Who You Are:
**The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced manager and demonstrates a deep passion for crafting exceptional e-commerce experiences. You will also lead technical design and implementation efforts across our core site experience. You deeply care about building for scale, reusability and quality. You have a strong background in software development and team management, you excel at driving projects from concept to completion while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. You have a keen eye for design, strong QA ability and have a knack for writing clean, optimized code. You are skilled at troubleshooting and fixing bugs, identifying bottlenecks, and improving efficiency, while also providing technical solution guidance to remove blockers and mitigate risks.
You are highly motivated, proactive, and thrive in highly collaborative environments. You are able to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and find it easy to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
