About the role
Transcend is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Software Engineer to build
delightfully simple UIs & features across the stack for our customers. You will help us
build and maintain the core Transcend application, as well as contribute to new
products and initiatives such as:
● Data Discovery & Classification: This product suite helps our customers
understand what types of data is being collected, where they are stored, and
what they are used for.
● Assessments: A tool to allow companies to systematically identify, analyze, and
minimize the data protection risks of a specific vendor, data system or project.
● Consent & Preference Management: A set of tools to collect and enforce user
consent & preferences on the frontend (web & mobile) and then propagate this
data to backend systems.
What you'll do
● Collaborate with product managers and designers to build polished and intuitive
user interfaces. You will think critically about the implications of what you’re
building, and how it relates to the overarching privacy goals of our customers.
● Ship production-ready code that’s easy to iterate on. You know what tests to
write, what to log, what metrics to capture, what alerts to set up.
● Improve the frontend development experience. As a senior member of the
engineering team, you will make it easier & faster for other devs to ship new
frontend features. Some examples include introducing useful component
abstractions and help automate testing for critical user flows.
● Participate in roadmap discussions and technical design reviews.
● Work across the stack to deliver features: Typescript, React, GraphQL, Node.js
● Proactively fix production and development issues.
Who you are
● You have 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, with an emphasis on
frontend or full-stack development.
● You're effective at tackling large, open-ended problems. We're a small team, and
not every problem will have a fully spec-ed out solution for you to implement.
Spec-gathering, writing design docs, validating potential solutions with
teammates, and decomposing work are all part of the job.
● You’re able to identify trade-offs and take them into consideration when making
decisions. You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly.

● You are effective at async and online methods of communication. Our team is
remote, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the
space and time barriers is very important.

For this role, the estimated annual total salary ranges are below. The actual annual
salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications
objectively assessed during the interview process.
The listed range below is a guideline, and the annual total salary range for this role may
