Senior Full-Stack Developer

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Mid-Level to Senior Full-Stack Developer to help refine and optimize a custom-coded web platform for a lifestyle and events brand in a major Latin American city. The codebase is roughly 75% complete and in need of professional cleanup, bug fixing, and performance improvements to reach production level. The platform is fully custom-coded from scratch — no templates — and includes a backend where users can submit events, deals, and venues, which are reviewed through internal admin tools. On the frontend, listings are dynamically displayed and filterable by things like date and category. Editorial content is managed in-house, and we’re planning CMS and API integrations (e.g. Mailchimp). Spanish and English proficiency is required, and we’re open to remote candidates worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Dive into the existing codebase to identify and resolve problem areas and bugs.
• Optimize frontend and backend performance for a smooth and efficient user experience.
• Work with the current JavaScript stack, including Node.js and React, to enhance platform functionality.
• Implement API integrations with third-party tools like Mailchimp.
• Integrate CMS solutions for efficient management of the editorial section.
• Refactor legacy code and improve data flow from backend to frontend.
• Develop and ship clean, scalable features on the custom-built architecture.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript, with strong experience in Node.js and React.
• Extensive experience in refactoring legacy codebases and optimizing performance.
• Ability to manage data flow efficiently from backend to frontend.
• Experience in integrating third-party APIs and CMS solutions.

Nice to Have

• Fluency in Spanish and conversational proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with lifestyle and events industry platforms.
