Experienced web developer. JavaScript & TypeScript lover. I would say that I did grow the most professionally at my first company ELCA Vietnam because after graduated from university, I join the company as a fresher without any experience on professional software development and ELCA had built up a very intuitive onboarding process to catch up with modern software fundamental and also soft skills. At ELCA Vietnam, I had a chance to work on several really large and long-term projects (20 - 50 software engineers, project lifetime can be from 2 years to 5 years). To be honest, all my technical experiences and communication skills are enforced during that time by learning from many talented people. I was a full-stack engineer that needs to research and implement tasks on both back-end and front-end, from Java - Spring Boot to JQuery, Knockout.js, Angular… I have been working on 2 projects that are enterprise web applications for Swiss government. During that time, I solved 2 performance issues related to memory leak and re-rendering DOM elements on client-side. I used Chrome Developer tools to perform memory profiling and compare dump tree in order to find out observable objects that are not properly destroyed and leads memory leak issue, it had been fixed by disposing correctly the observable objects. With the help CPU profiling along with flash paint tool, I determined the re-rendering phase on code base that is slowing the web page. Since the root cause is from large content returned from API, the solution using “virtualized list” helps to reduce number of DOM element to fit only on end-user viewport. My co-workers usually give me feedback that I am having strong technical skills, being proactive at work, and always taking ownership but also having good communication, not a kind of lonely worker.
