Hey there! I have 5+ years of experience in the Software Development industry, as well as 3 years of mentoring experience. I'm experienced in C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, JavaScript, Syncfusion, SSRS, etc. I have a high level of attention to detail, which makes me good at reviewing code, assisting with finding bugs, etc. I also have a strong logical and mathematical background, which is an asset for programming in general. Mentoring has been the most fulfilling job I've done, for many reasons: it forced me to grow and become much more proficient in many of my skills, it taught me how to communicate this knowledge in an easily understandable way, and I got to see the results of my work when my students achieved success in their careers.
Work Experience
I was a software development mentor in the Microsoft AppFactory program. This program is a 9-month internship created by Microsoft to assist university graduates in finding employment by giving them the necessary training and work experience. Astel Systems creates Billing Management Software, and the internship was conducted through them. The interns were primarily trained in the technologies used at Astel: ASP.NET MVC (with Entity Framework) using C#, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), Syncfusion. My technical duties included: reviewing code, teaching the interns about source control, helping them through each phase of the Software Development Life Cycle - requirements analysis, design, development, testing, bug fixing, documentation, deployment, support. Other duties included: teaching them about professionalism, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, time management, etc. Our internship program was very successful - 90% of our interns attained permanent employment afterwards.
Forest fire detection software. My role mainly involved requirements analysis, design, testing and documentation for different applications. I was part of the design phase of a project which detects and tracks buoys to estimate a rise in sea levels. I worked on a project that measures the fire detection response time in order to collect useful statistics and improve.
