Your Role

We’re looking for a Laravel-focused Full-Stack Staff Engineer to join our product engineering team in Amsterdam. You’ll play a key role in scaling a mature, high-traffic platform used daily by thousands of users.

This is a highly hands-on position, where you’ll spend 70–80% of your time coding, while also:

• Leading technical initiatives
• Making critical architectural decisions
• Mentoring mid-level engineers
• Raising the overall engineering bar across the organization

You’ll work within a team of both remote and hybrid engineers, collaborating closely across frontend and backend to build robust, scalable, and elegant solutions.

Our core stack consists of Laravel (backend) and React (frontend), and we continuously ship new features to expand and evolve our product offering.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement scalable backend and frontend solutions using Laravel and React
• Make and guide architectural decisions that impact the platform at scale
• Build reusable APIs and shared components
• Lead projects end-to-end, from technical design to delivery
• Coach and mentor engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class product experiences
• Continuously improve performance, maintainability, and developer experience

Experience & Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of experience working with Laravel and React
• Strong experience with PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and MySQL
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives
• Experience working within larger engineering teams
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong track record of coordinating projects involving 3+ engineers
• Passion for usability, user experience, and clean, elegant UI
• Strong believer in TDD and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in product-driven companies with multiple engineering teams
• Nice to have: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or DevOps tooling
