Overview
You will build complex software, own components of ongoing projects, collaborate closely with teammates, meet delivery timelines, and help advance team practices. You will create design specifications, write unit tests, prepare technical documentation, and maintain professional relationships with partners across teams. The work focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and reusable software that supports data quality and automation.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and implement high quality software using established standards and processes to promote consistency, reduce risk, and improve efficiency.
- Analyze existing procedures and design improvements that enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Build and monitor microservices and event driven solutions.
- Develop full stack features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Next.js, and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Build serverless solutions in AWS using services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and related tooling.
- Apply Agile, CI and CD, and DevOps practices including trunk based development, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design narratives, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure solutions meet requirements and quality standards.
Required qualifications
- 5 or more years of professional software development experience.
- Strong competence with multiple programming languages, frameworks, and implementation environments.
- Practical experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, Node.js, Next.js, and APIs in a cloud environment.
- Hands on experience with AWS and serverless architectures including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Proven experience designing and monitoring microservices.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery, CI and CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
- Demonstrated experience building full stack solutions with Node.js.
- Solid understanding of object oriented concepts and core computer science principles.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices.
- Strong problem solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working on Scrum teams with a team first attitude and willingness to help where needed.
- Ability to design, build, refactor, and monitor scalable and reusable applications, including high frequency data services.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as KMS, SQS, SNS, OpenSearch, Route 53, and VPC.
- Fluency with CI and CD toolsets such as CloudFormation, GitHub, and Ansible.
- Experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases.
- Experience building infrastructure as code with AWS CloudFormation or similar tools.
- Curiosity and appetite to learn new technologies and business domains.
- Knowledge or experience in data science, generative AI, or machine learning.
Education and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant AWS or other professional certifications are a plus.
Pay Rate Range: $70-$80 per hr (Depending on Experience)
