Senior Full-Stack (TS/Firebase/Next.js) - FT Freelance - Worlwide

Role Overview

We are searching for a skilled Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Developer to enhance our existing sailing platform across iOS, Android, and Web interfaces. You will play a pivotal role in building new features, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

What we're building:

• Operator portal (boat trip providers list/manage boating trips) - Think Airbnb expericnes host view.
• Customer search & booking (web + mobile API) - Think Airbnb expericnes customer view.
• Embeddable widgets for operator websites - Allowig boating operators to add a wdget to their website.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new features on our existing sailing platform using Next.js 13 and TypeScript.
• Utilize Firebase Functions to create and manage callable functions, Firestore triggers, and scheduled functions to support client apps and the operator dashbaord web site.
• Leverage Google Cloud Tasks and webhooks to enhance platform capabilities.
• Ensure robust security measures through the implementation of Firebase security rules.
• Collaborate with our co-founder to build this solution together.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with TypeScript and Next.js.
• Proficient in Firebase, including callable functions, Firestore triggers, scheduled functions, and security rules.
• Strong understanding of Vercel for deployment and management.
• Ability to work alongside our technical co-founder.
• Have supported iOS and Android apps with Firebase Firestore as a back end. i.e callables, fan out pattern.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud task management and webhook integration.
• Built a marketplace, booking system, or multi-sided platform before.
