About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong PHP/Laravel expertise to join our growing development team. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backend systems and scalable APIs that power both web and mobile platforms. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and contribute to the evolution of our architecture and development practices.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of progressive experience as a software engineer or backend developer
• Advanced backend development skills using PHP and Laravel
• Solid experience with MySQL and relational database integration
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a high attention to code quality, unit testing, and peer reviews
• Proficiency in object-oriented and/or event-driven programming
• Strong understanding of software design principles for creating maintainable and extensible codebases
• Familiarity with UML modeling techniques
• Experience working in Agile or continuous delivery environments
• Solid grasp of unit and integration testing

Nice to Have Skills

• Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• GraphQL knowledge
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience with ORMs such as Eloquent, Django ORM, Active Record, or Entity Framework
• Awareness of backend security best practices
• Experience with performance optimization and scalability
• Background in database design, optimization, and administration
• Understanding of caching strategies and implementation techniques
