Juliana Torrisi, RecruiterA bit about us: We are the team behind Gamblit. While we successfully got it to market, building this project as "amateur" developers and vibe-coding a lot of it lead to a laggy backend during peak hours and a codebase that is not clean and hard to scale.
Now, we want to shift to a more professional approach that is easy to scale with nodes across multiple geographical regions & ensuring low latency across Asia, Europe, and America
Role Overview
Join our team as a Senior Backend Developer to help us build our new gambling platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a high-performance backend using Go that can handle thousands of concurrent players via websockets and hundreds of real-time bets.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of our data layer & helping us finalize the choice between MongoDB and PostgreSQL based on our specific betting logic.
- Ensure regional data residency requirements are met while maintaining a unified global platform.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers to integrate backend functionalities.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of Go's concurrency model, memory management, and building high-performance microservices.
- Knowledge of WebSockets for real-time server communication.
- Expertise in distributed systems
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Nice to Have
- Experience in developing for the gambling or gaming industry.
- Experience with Redis PubSub/NATS/RabbitMQ/Kafka for inter-region communication.
We don't care about a generic CV as much as we care about what you’ve actually shipped!
Please make sure to share:
- Live projects where you handled complex, real-time data.
- A GitHub repo or code snippet that demonstrates your approach to Clean Code
- Tell us how you would handle a user’s data if they are jumping between an Asian and European node.
