Summary
I'm an experienced full-stack developer looking for some part-time freelancing work while I bootstrap an AI startup. I've been freelancing on and off since 2014, and my clients have included Boston Consulting Group, AT&T, Neural Concept, and many others, ranging from huge companies to small startups.
In my most recent full-time role, as a Founding Engineer with a startup called LaunchScience, I joined a month into the company, working on a pre-product prototype, and played a core technical role all the way up to the acquisition of the startup.
I pride myself on communciation, flexibility, and range of skills. Whatever your project requirements are, I can probably help. My current interests are high performance systems design and LLM integration projects.
Work Experience
Bootstrapping a startup part-time that builds spreadsheet AI for finance professionals. As the sole engineer:
- Created a semantic layer for tabular spreadsheet data - involved finetuning an LLM, writing some dynamic chunking algorithms, and building a system to query arbitrarily structured spreadsheets with SQL
- Built a system that acted like ``AI-assisted Excel macros'' - records a complex series of events in a spreadsheet, puts them in a graph, and parameterizes it with AI.
- Built a websocket based RPC system that allowed rapid syncing of spreadsheet state between Excel and an AI supervision process.
- Designed a custom LLM eval framework
Engineer #3 at a venture funded SaaS startup, helped bring the company from pre-product all the way to acquisition. Solved a large and diverse set of technical challenges in areas ranging from search systems to AI agents.
