Research Assitant

I worked simultaneously on two different locations in Brazil implementing agile practices to help to control and monitor business processes within 4 different areas of the National Service for Industrial Apprenticeship (SENAI). At Salvador city, I worked with three different areas: Microelectronics, Electromagnetic compatibility and Software development. Agile practices such as Sprint, SCRUM, Xtreme Programming and Continuous Integration were introduced through practical exercise. The agile practices were applied to specific projects within each area. At Ilhéus city, I worked with the software development group from the Integrated Centre of Manufacture and Technology (CIMATEC) that was created to support local emergent hardware industry. I followed the developers group through one full Agile Sprint, starting from the stories estimation, tasks assignment, daily SCRUM, pair programming, requirements refinement and finalizing with the SCRUM retrospective. I have also created the continuous integration infrastructure to be used at the development/test environment. The following open source tools were used: linux, jenkins, svn/git and maven. The continuous integration server was setup to automatically build and validate java, ruby and Microsoft .Net applications committed to the development environment.

Field Service Engineer

I worked on the 2009’s London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Italian Stock Exchange (Borsa Italiana) portals development team using End-to-End Agile methodology. The international development team was supervised by Italian software architects and closely monitored by LSE stakeholders. The stakeholders from LSE participated regularly to the SCRUM meetings conduced in English to ensure the precise compliance to the business requirements. My role at that time was to support the development teams implementing new services, applications and major enhancements to the existing services while maintaining technical documentation to enable the continued support to relevant applications. During this tenure I developed J2EE web applications using the following technologies: Spring IOC, EJB, Hibernate, Apache Ant, Maven, Eclipse, JSP, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, jUnit, Subversion, AJAX, Oracle 11g Database Server, Apache TomCat 5.5 and OracleOC4J web servers. The software development methodologies adopted at this project were Xtreme programming, test-driven development, SCRUM, daily stand-up meeting, continuous integration, build with slack, pomodoro technique, Sprint, pair programming among others.

I worked on SQL reports and amending functionalities to complex web applications dedicated to insurance services. I also performed bug fix, data fix and technical documentation update to support core applications at Generali insurance group. The following technologies were used during this project: JavaScript, XML, Websphere WSAD, Serena CVS, Toad query analyzer, PL/SQL stored procedures and Oracle 11g.

I have worked developing 3D/CAD applications using Delphi / C++ / OpenGL to read from Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) model and to draw metallic structures, building and mechanical parts according to the IFC specification. I was responsible for studying and to detail the IFC model to the development team guiding the development of a 3D viewer capable of geo-spatial data visualisation.

3D CAD/CAE/IFC Engineer

I worked sustaining Windows 2000 Server environment to enable engineers, researchers, administrative staff and students to perform their respective tasks at the Integrated Technology and Manufacture Centre (CIMATEC). CIMATEC is part of the Brazilian National Department for Industry (SENAI) that facilitates workforce training supporting local industry. At that time, I was also responsible for telecommunications, UPSs and information technology infrastructure. My main duties in IT were: active directory account management, MS Exchange server 2000 administration, backup policy, anti-virus policy, database administration (MSSQL and Oracle 9i) and networking infrastructure (TCP/IP / DHCP / DNS services).

I worked creating presentations and supporting airport managers from all around Brazil during their annual AGM meetings. The presentation included TMQ program setup, Pareto graphs, QoS management and airport indicators such as check-in time, queue waiting time, over-catering and luggage lost.

I have worked in the financial sector developing back-end applications for the stock market.

TDD is a methodology to write better code, improving your code design and at the same time creating an automated test environment to proof check your code while you are adding incremental features to it. The frameworks I use are JUnit for Java and Jasmine for JavaScript.    

I have hardcoded applications in C standard to control servo motors and to perform M2M communication reading and writing data via serial port using Arduino/RPi/Beaglebone microcontrollers.

I have prepared and deployed web-based applications over beagleboard platform using White, Black and Green wireless models.

I have supervised students from graduate to PhD level assisting with the development of path-planning applications to control industrial robots. The main application was robotic welding.

I have experience configuring Windows, Linux and Mac environments to be used for the development of ML models using TensorFlow and PyTorch.
