About

Being a software developer is more than just learning to program in a computer language. I have been building .NET web apps for years and multiplayer games since 2015, using Unity 3D using Photon Fusion (server-authoritative). I have also designed and/or worked on enterprise web sites from concept to deployment, some high-profile projects. I have served as a Senior or Lead Developer for years, mentoring other developers and encouraging them to use the latest technologies and best practices. For tutoring, I would focus on teaching design patterns, using events and encapsulation when designing applications and reinforcing the need to keep your skillset current as new technologies are released. I can give advice on how to focus your learning efforts to target specific types of development positions, and interviewing advice for finding a position within a software company. I had been a developer in C++ for about 10 years prior to using C# and focused on web technologies prior to working with Unity 3D.

While I have primarily been using Unity 3D and Microsoft .NET / C# recently, I have also utilized legacy technologies like Classic ASP, VB and VB.NET, COM/DCOM, worked with Linux/PHP/MySQL from time to time, and worked with the Microsoft SQL Server/Express/CE products for 10+ years. I also have formal SCRUM training, which is used by many companies for handling team project management.

For Unity 3D multiplayer networking projects I typically work with and recommend Photon Fusion along with PlayFab integrations, PlayFab Matchmaking, and PlayFab GameServers.

If your college project is a "Concept to POC" type of project where the Proof of Concept is the working software required for a grade, then I will also teach you to use a Git repository to manage the project (or Plastic/UVCS for Unity projects).

I can help you document the Project Scope, Functional Specs, create Design Documents, and build the presentation for your college project. We can build completed projects in a short time, both the user interface and the server components as needed.

My focuses are Unity 3D multiplayer, C#, .NET Core

Led the design and development of a cross-platform metaverse application in Unity 3D (v6) for Windows and macOS. Responsible for Unity development, recruiting additional engineers and modelers, provisioning and deploying servers, and implementing essential infrastructure including IIS, SSL, DNS, SQL Server, and networking. Responsible for development, Windows and macOS/Apple builds and signing, and Windows installer development. Architected, developed, and deployed the following metaverse platform components: - Metaverse Platform Web Services using ABP.io with JWT-based authentication and REST APIs (Domain Driven Design) - Metaverse Server built in Unity 3D with Photon Fusion 2 for authoritative multiplayer networking (additional load testing) - Metaverse Client developed in Unity 3D with Agora.IO integration for real-time voice, screen sharing, and webcam - Metaverse WatchDog Windows Service to ensure server uptime across reboots or crashes - PatchKit.net-based Client App Launcher (Windows and macOS) for patching the client and updating it prior to each launch - Unity 3D v6 - Photon Fusion 2 - Agora.IO - .NET Core / ABP.io web services and user authentication - Server management - PatchKit.net Client App Launcher - Advanced Installer-based Windows installation The platform functioned as a virtual office system using full-body animated 3D avatars in a persistent online environment. The world included a large tropical island and a custom-designed five-story building with 20 offices per floor, created by a dedicated 3D modeler.

As a Senior Unity Developer on a multiplayer online CCG I worked on the both client and server (all systems including WPF admin client), tutorial system, new game features, and new user interface while building the DC Dual Force multiplayer card game from the early development up to a fully released product. The system involved a Unity 3D client, WPF .NET based game administration client, .NET Core server, with RabbitMQ networking
