Freelance Software Engineer

Tatchup was a Canadian startup that lived through two phases.

In the first phase, Tatchup was about "Commenting on the internet". During this phase, I developed a chrome extension (using Vue.js) and its backend (using Ruby on Rails) to allow its users to add comments to paragraphs and images on any website or to youtube videos (In that case, comments would be time-dependent).

The comments were visible to other users of the extension, using a "follow" mechanism similar to twitter.

This project failed to achieve a critical mass so the company pivoted to a customizable news service.

For this new project, users were able to tweak parameters like search terms, subtopics, and preferred sources to receive customized news through email and slack. We reached 80k subscribers.

Reev is a spinoff company born inside Outbound Marketing.

Outbound Marketing is a leading marketing company in Brazil. Reev is a spinoff tech company created to transform this knowledge into an outbound marketing tool to automatize these processes.

During this time I was the lead software engineer responsible for taking the learnings from the MVP and creating the first production-ready version of the system. I was in charge of designing, testing, and developing the core functionality of the system, from the frontend (Vue.js) to the backend (Ruby on Rails)·

We followed a scrum-based/TDD methodology. Today, Reev is one of the number one choices in outbound marketing tools in Brazil.

Lead Software Engineer

Leanlife is a startup aiming to connect gym practitioners with the latest scientific research. The final goal was to deliver a new, highly optimized, workout session on every training day through a mobile app.

During this time I was responsible for:
1. Working together with sports scientists to understand the concepts of strength training and translating this knowledge into data models and algorithms.
2. Designing and developing the mobile app using Cordova.
3. Designing and developing tools for sport scientists, like reports on user training to track their evolution and an online tool to create a workout session while reporting auxiliary metrics about workout quality (AngularJS).
4. Designing and developing the API consumed by the mobile app and tools (Rails).
5. Creating an algorithm to, given user input like age, weight, goals, training experience, lesions, preferred exercises, and workout history, create an optimized workout session.

Everywhere Mobile was a company acting both as a software house developing software on demand and as a startup with internal projects.

During this time I was responsible for:
1. Talking to clients to extract software requirements, estimate costs, and deadlines.
2. Manage projects using a scrum-based methodology.
3. Being part of the development team for numerous projects with varying technologies.
4. Screening, training, and managing interns.
5. Working together with sales and design teams to conceptualize new products and games.
