I did my dissertation research focusing on designing a system for scalable real-time anomaly detection of targeted malware in smartphones. I developed the system from concept to prototype using systems engineering principles. Here, we applied machine learning techniques to data we collected from a custom, native Android application. 

 I was a teaching assistant for the Intro to Java Programming undergraduate class of over 100 students. I also have experience coding in Java for Android applications as part of my doctoral research and other graduate-level courses.

My dissertation research focused on cyber security for smartphones. The software system we built was made primarily of Python code. I built custom modules, classes, as well as integrating known libraries. I have also done smaller scripts for biomedical research labs. These scripts used BS4and Tkinter to retrieve, process, and store various data. I also co-developed and taught a Python bootcamp for 8th- 11th grade students for a university.


I have worked on websites for bloggers, barbershops, and learning platforms. For some of these projects, I modified WordPress themes themes and incorporated plugins. For other projects, I used HTML, HTML5, and PHP.

During my undergraduate studies, I minored in computer and tutored C++ I and C++ II courses. I then received my Masters in Computer Science. During that time, I took courses such as Intermediate Software Design, where we learned and implemented at least 20 design patterns (i.e. adapter, composite, observer, etc.). As a doctoral student, I took an additional Software Systems Design course. I also tutored underclassmen and other graduate students in Intro to C++ programming and Software Systems Design courses.
