I led the design and implementation of a cloud migration for TradeMe's credit card processing services. Previously this facility was housed in a dedicated secure datacentre, but we designed a rearchitected version of the stack for AWS, including EC2, Docker (ECS) and managed services like DynamoDB, SQS and RDS. We managed to reduce increase reliability significantly as a result, reduce cloud hosting costs, reduce administrative overheads for managing the platform, and reduce the effort and time taken to pass PCI-DSS audfdits each year.
