Software Engineer

Worked on R&D projects to create innovative display, debrief, and simulation systems to aid in warfighter training.

I've worked on legacy systems (15+ yr. old code base) as well as designing new systems from the ground up. I've developed systems for Windows and linux, with and without user interfaces, using MFC UIs and Qt UIs, and with a variety of development tools. 

Most of my experience has been in C++, and it is the language that I am most comfortable working in.

I have created a large amount of documentation ranging from design prototypes, to comprehensive architecture documentation. I have create a lot of diagrams using UML as well as "freehand" diagrams. I find that in most instances where a complex topic is being described, a well-crafted diagram can do wonders in communicating the concept clearly.

(Unity3d) Developed a military-based vehicle simulator prototype that allowed for a configurable level of physics realism.

(Unity3d) Mentored junior co-workers in designing and begining implementation of a mission planning and terrain pre-visualization system.
