Senior Software Engineer (iOS)

Divertica Inc. is an experimental venture focusing on VR/AR content, using Unity 3D and Apples ARKit. Our first app will ship on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in 2018.

Cofounder

Managed mobile strategy for the Google Payments platform, including iOS payments strategy and features launched via core Android OS to 2 billion users. Served as Payments representative to Googles consumer mobile products (Android Pay, Google Wallet, Hands Free), as well as Google Fiber. Worked closely with members of cross-functional groups (Finance, Sales, Legal, Marketing) to deliver platform features across all monetized Google products. As the group's VR expert, I worked with the Google VR team on Payments VR strategy and prototyping.

Product Manager

Directed internal and client teams of 10-30 in development and shipping of 30 mobile products totaling $2.5M. Managed products from earliest requirements gathering and strategy through UI and feature design, production, deployment and maintenance, including early work in AR.  Selected clients: GE Healthcare, Salesforce.com, Microsoft, Focus Brands (Auntie Anne's Pretzels), Oracle MICROS, Good Technologies, Apportable, Apigee. Our original game, Bubble Scoop, was shortlisted for iTunes Game of the Week.

Cofounder and CTO

Recruited as employee #1; owned core game-authoring product. Designed and implemented key features for the Corona mobile SDK in C++, C, Objective-C and Lua, including the very popular physics engine API. Responsible for product management and direction. Wrote documentation and created training materials and tutorials for end-users. Worked with Director of Marketing on user evangelism and partner company outreach, achieved adoption by 100,000 developers in 12 months. Managed 2-4 engineers; reported to CEO and CTO.

Lead Software Architect

Recruited for product design of Verizon Wireless Dashboard project, a mobile platform for pre-smartphone devices. Created functional prototypes for presentation to Verizon; authored product demos, developer documentation, and training materials. Delivered conference presentations to win platform developers. Joint Verizon-Adobe product shipped in 2008.

Senior Developer

Bootstrapped multimedia, web, and mobile agency delivering work for 120+ clients including Sun Microsystems, Benchmark Capital, Nielsen Online, Seattle Sound Transit, Dallas Federal Reserve, Blue Shield of California, and Ask.com. Created early mobile games in pre-smartphone era, and distributed them on the carrier decks of Verizon Wireless and Softbank Japan.

I've been building iOS apps since the earliest days of the iPhone, and have worked on dozens of apps, ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 10 companies. I have also been active in mobile development since 2003, shipping apps to US and Japanese carriers long before the modern era of smartphones. 

I'm highly experienced with pulling together teams and managing remote engineering and design staff, from as far back as 2000. I've worked closely with developers in Kazakhstan, Bolivia, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Russia, England, France, Canada, China, and India.

Since the days of the dot-com boom, I've gained substantial startup experience from all sides: as a technical cofounder, as an early employee, and as a vendor of mobile product strategy and project management. I'm familiar with lean startup principles, agile methodology, and aggressive feature prioritization and triage while staring down short do-or-die runways.
