Maintainance and Quality Control Technician

The vast majority of the web runs on PHP. Even with the influx of frameworks and languages in recent years, PHP is still king of the web. PHP is my bread and butter and I have been developing in PHP pretty much non stop for over a decade, learning the quirks and subtle nuiances of the language.

While I do consider myself a proficient Javascript user and have developed a fair amount of personal projects in Angular, Vue, NodeJS, Ionic, I always come back to jQuery for my main projects. Unless being a single page application is a hard requirement, I have never encountered something that I couldn't do in jQuery that I could've done easier using another library/framework.

At its most basic, a website is just HTML and CSS being interpreted by a web browser. Regardless if you consider yourself a backend or frontend web developer, knowing even a basic amount of HTML and CSS is REQUIRED. I've been making websites in HTML and CSS for about a decade and a half now, and as a web developer they are 2 "languages" that I use on a daily basis.

A certain level of knowledge in server administration is essential for web development. Knowing how to deploy and maintain the infrastructure that your code is running on is an important skill for every web developer to have. Through the years I've successfully deployed over a dozen web apps to linux servers, and even though I am a developer I am more than comfortable doing systems administration tasks when required.

I have been involved in several oil & gas projects that were built using C# and the .NET framework. While I am not intimately familiar with the language/platform, I was still able to deliver high quality code and build new features in a timely manner.

A well designed database is fundemental to a good web application. I have been programing with SQL since I first starting programming on the web, and I am extremelly comfortable in both desiging efficient databases and in querying databases.

Although I am primarily a software developer, I am also interested and competent with the infrastructure behind the code. As such, I hold 2 AWS certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate and AWS Developer Associate.
