I work as the technical lead for the secure file transfer solution developed by ProAtria. I am doing both software development and secure file transfer consultancy work.

Ubuntu Translations and Launchpad Rosetta Volunteer

Leading a small team (4-5 persons) in C Unix, Java programming and web developers on porting different free software secure file transfer applications. We target almost all Unix and Unix-like operating systems (mainframe os390/zOS, midrange os400/i5OS, openVMS, HP-UX, OS X). Applications are ported especially from GNU/Linux and among them we have putty, openSSH, vsftpd, regina, curl, bash and other GNU tools. I have developed reference implementation of secure data transfer solutions for various operating system (Windows, Linux, HPUX, Solaris, AIX, OpenVMS, True64, NonStop, OS400, i5OS, os390, Z/OS). I was in close contact with all our customers gathering requirements and feedback. The solution implies a web management interface in 2 versions. One written in Java and another in PHP. It also implements audits, chroots and virtual users for protecting server's local users and data. Also my responsibility was to assist and guide customers migrating to secure file transfer protocols (FTPS / SFTP) and help them applying IT security best practices in their legacy systems

* maintaining and supervising our main line with Bucharest NOC and backup lines to Targu Mures NOC and Timisoara NOC * maintaining and supervising leased lines to our 6 Point Of Presence located in the near counties * maintaining and supervising tunnels to more than 40 education institutions connected to Cluj NOC. * monitoring network activity and detect hijacked computers used for sending spam or hosting phishing websites (ex. Fake PayPal or other e-banking services) * providing technical assistance to our clients and help them apply security best practices installing, maintaining and supervising network equipment (routers, switches and servers)

Have used Python for network application, asyncronous IO, TLS and SSH comunication over common protocols like HTTP to less popular la LDAP .

Most of the work is done for Python 2.7 , but I have also helped a lot reviewing code to be ported to Python 3.

I worked secure data transfer for more than 10 years.

From TLS/SSH for communication, to PKI for managing certificates and integration with secure hardware (ex smart cards)

From popular Windows and Linux varions to less common OS like Solaris, HPUX and AIX, I have a good understanding and knowlede of how server operating system work.

I have also done small task on mainframe Z/OS and midrange i5OS.

Beside working with the OS I am also familiar with all the special hardware required to run some of the most exotic operationg systems. 

For more than 5 years I am doing fully automated test-driven development. I have experience with all types of testing starting from unit testing, going to integration and ending with end to end testing.
I have done tests for the backend, for deployment script as well as frontend JS with Jasmine (unit/integration) and Selenium.

I am an automation guy. I am happy to work in fully automated environments where all the repetitive and mundane task are done my non-humans :)
I have done automation for tests, for development and code review process, for team activity report and for final product deployment and distribution.

I have worked all my carrer with network applications.
I am very familiar with the low level network layers like Ethernet, ARP and I worked with 802.1x Supplicant and Authenticator switches for securing the edge access.
I have developed applications interacting with the DNS, Secure DNS, DNS-SD service discovery and DHCP.
Most of my work was with TCP/IP client-server application, but I have also developerd peer to peer UDP based applications in which I have used ICE (STUN / TURN) for NAT traversal. 

Lately, my work is with secure data communication involving SSL/TLS or SSH protocols.

I have passed the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) training.

Developer and cook. I am specialized on server-side, behind the scene, seamless and automated products. I develop multi-OS server-side on-premise secure data transfer software based on automated processes and TDD.  I am a software automation geek.

I have contributed to the Twisted project in the last years with patches for the SSH, SFTP,  FTP and HTTP parts.
I am one of the core developers doing code review for the pull requests sent by others.
I have also helpes with the infrastructure work for the project. Ex switching from SVN to Git.
