Compensation Range: $45 - 55 per hour
We’re looking for a talented Art Designer to join our dynamic in-house agency team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with copywriters, art directors, and fellow designers to bring creative briefs to life through compelling visual concepts. Supporting the Associate Creative Director and account teams, you'll help develop a wide range of internal and external communications materials. Responsibilities:
Design Support
- Brainstorm and strategize with creative team to help develop creative concepts as prescribed by creative/marketing briefs under the direction of the ACD and/or creative team lead, account teams and clients.
- Play an active role in conceptual ideation, leveraging research, analytics and brand insights.
- Convert conceptual ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, layout drafts) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews.
- Recommend, research and develop imagery (e.g., photography, design and illustration) to support creative strategy and execution.
- Collaborate with creative peers - including art directors, designers, copywriters, illustrators, animators, and video producers - to artfully build creative solutions that address specific project objectives.
- Share interim work with ACD and/or creative team lead for direction and design insights.
- Lead the final development and production of creative assets, expanding approved design direction across deliverables, as specified in project briefs.
- Ensure adherence to brand guidelines while exploring new interpretations of the brand and ways to evolve the visual identity of the brand.
- Provide ACD and/or creative team lead unsolicited ideas and insights on market trends, competitive marketing or innovations.
Teamwork
- Work to improve the team's overall performance and embrace a collaborative approach.
- Actively seek teammates for their input and insights on developing projects.
- Keep abreast of and share ideas and insights on market trends, competitive marketing or innovations.
- Mentor new team members by offering support and counsel on various aspects of their role as requested by the creative team lead.
- Provide visible support for leadership and help build a unified team mindset.
- Provide open and honest feedback to supporting team members with the goal of striving to be the best.
Client Service
- Partner with the ACD and/or creative team lead, account team and the business to achieve effective and efficient outcomes.
- Engage with the ACD and/or creative team lead in account/client meetings to review briefs, build project plans and kick off projects and present creative work.
- Take lead role and work directly with clients as dictated by the scope of the project.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in design, advertising or related field.
- Minimum of five years professional-level experience required.
- Portfolio of recent work required.
- External agency experience preferred.
- In-house experience optional.
Skills:
- Demonstrates proficient expertise in using Adobe Creative Cloud software as required by the job function (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Extensive experience with conceptual ideation, across print, digital, video and event design is a plus.
- Working knowledge of best practices for user experience.
- Understands design theory as it applies to traditional and emerging mediums.
- Openly offers opinions and can clearly articulate design decisions.
- Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines and directions.
- Understands that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on time, on budget and on strategy.
- Ability to work autonomously without micromanagement and can be counted on for accuracy.
- Demonstrated creative conceptualization skills.
