Discord Bot Developer - PT - WW

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Discord Bot Developer to design and implement a custom receipt submission bot. This innovative bot will handle receipt submissions from users, extract data using OCR technology, and securely store the extracted information in both user accounts and an internal database. The project involves integrating with taggun.io for OCR processing and ensuring seamless data management through robust backend systems.

This role is critical to enhancing user interaction and optimizing data workflows for the project. You will also collaborate on additional bot functionality, including a welcome bot and moderator bot, with a primary focus on the receipt submission bot.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a custom Discord bot to manage receipt submissions and user interactions.
• Integrate OCR technology with taggun.io for accurate data extraction from receipts.
• Set up a reliable backend using tools like Supabase or Xano to store and manage data.
• Ensure seamless data flow: User input → Discord bot → OCR → Database → Dashboard.
• Build and test scalable, reliable bot functionality to handle multiple simultaneous users.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to the bot’s functionality.
• Contribute to a user-friendly bot interface and intuitive interactions.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with Discord bot development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript or Python.
• Strong background in backend development, particularly with Supabase, Xano, or similar databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Proven experience with API integration, especially for OCR technologies like taggun.io.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub for version control.

Nice to Have Skills

• Familiarity with taggun.io or other OCR services.
• Experience building user-friendly bot interfaces and designing engaging user interactions.
• Skills in dashboard development to visualize data stored in the database.

Additional Information

This is a highly flexible project with an estimated workload of 20-40 hours, depending on expertise. While the timeline is flexible, the ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills and a proven track record in delivering high-quality Discord bots and backend systems.

The company is open to global talent, with a preference for developers based in South America or Europe. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and meet clearly defined project goals.
