Senior Data Engineer (Contract)

Consulting on Kafka usage in client’s data streaming project. Building a stream processing pipeline consuming from Oracle SQL using Oracle GoldenGate connector, cleansing and joining using Kafka Streams and writing to MS SQL and HDFS.

Data Streaming Consultant (Contract)

Working closely with data scientists to productionize algorithms onto analytics cluster. Productionizing involved understanding the data required by an algorithm so it may be
modelled appropriately in the Cassandra and/or ElasticSearch database, developing
parallelized processing pipelines (Spark) and streaming pipelines (Kafka). All written
mainly in Scala with some Python scripting.

Data Engineer (Contract)

I've got 10+ years of experience in software development but recent 5 years I've worked as a Scala contracting developer at companies in London (including TimeOut, British Gas and Go Ahead Group, IHS Markit) as well as Copenhagen (Maersk). I specialise in microservices and big data processing (with Cassandra and Kafka).

I have developed a few applications on R3 Corda. I can help with architecture, domain design and developement of Cordapps.
