About

I'm a creative frst and foremost–I come from a background in design and wanted to major in architectural design–but when I found that I could make my photoshop designs move, interact, and ultimately become more than just simle flyers or prints, but tiny moving, interactive parts–I was hooked. I believe strongly in the principles in John Berger's "Ways of Seeing" and actively try to make my webpages meaningful in their purpose.

I have a 3.5 year tenure working at notable companies such as Amex and Wells Fargo, as well as my most well spent time at Yahoo, working on statically generated marketing pages for their B2B Adtech offerings. I've also been blessed with Freelance opportunities to work alongside peopel at Pampered Chef, Invisalign, and Grainger Industrial through my contracts with https://theia.io/.

I've learned a lot in the last 5 years I've been considerd a "front end developer" and now have moved into full-stadk work, training my skills everyday to build perfomrant webpages that are visually appealing, easy to approach and use, and remain accessible for those who may not get a chance to see my designs. I am truly passioonate about the web, and though I have no clue where it's headed or where it may take me, I want to make a substantial contrubution to that however I can.

Telling a design studio's story is difficult. They wear many hats, so designing a clean slate for them to open up clients to relaxation through consistent motion design was imperative. This is an Awwwards SOTD nominee from 2023 recreated with modern technologies such as Gatsby (a static site generator) and Framer Motion, of course React in there too. It began with the landing page but that was all, and I was left to design the various pages throughout the rest of the sitemap. Clean, elegant, and emotional. I wanted to maintain elements from the introductory animation (such as the marquee, the bold emotion, and calming page transitions that looked as if the background never changed. This would maintain the users focus, and precipitate a feeling of calmness I had never had the opportunity to establish and perform... Overalll,,,,

The user is greeted with a full-sized video reel of one of Furrow's works entitled "Not Humble" which is manumitted throughout the site with bold typography, intro animations (on scroll), and when clicking the navigation panel, a default reel plays as the selected video and changes with a full-page transition to the next when selecting another. "Great stories don't just happen – they need to be uncovered. And we dig deep to discover the great stories that lie just below the surface. Dirt under our fingernails and all." The showcase of the wbepage is a fullpage navigation panel, which opens initially in a full-red square while a white dot provokes you to select one of the navigation items. Upon hovering, the cursor widens and a full-size demo reel begins to play to the right. As you navigate, the transition once again reveals a new short film to preview. Mobile screens were tricky. How could we maintain such visual storytelling in a sub 300px view? We played with some options, but ultimately decided saving a 16x9 space above the footer was the best option. Each element can be selected via touch controls and the corresponding reels beings to play. The final mobile screen showcases Furrow's offerings to the public, with a reel to the left side reminding users of the quality, persistence, and showmanship of the studio, along with social links appended to the footer section found on all pages.
