Freelance React Developer

As Architect at Indecomm Mortgage, I worked for mortgage products - Income Analyser. Income Analyser is a cloud application hosted in Azure. Though the primary user interface was web, there was significant back end processing - OCR and image processing capabilities. The product was built using .NET stack - ASP.NET and C#.

Architect

MakeMeOK.com was a healthcare aggregator in India - aggregating hospitals and doctors in major Indian cities. The product was built using ASP.NET and C#. Elastic was the search engine. As an architect, I built the whole product from scratch and set the MVP live on AWS infrastructure. However, the company did not last a year and closed down due to lack of funding and customer interest in the product.

Solution Architect

I worked as a team member in Dell (eCommerce) / Search team. The product was built using ASP.NET and C#. For search, FAST was used as the search engine. WCF services were used to provide a micro-service architecture. My major contribution during this period was enhancing the logging capabilities in the product. In that way, I learnt a whole deal about how the Search product in dell.com interacted with other services in an eCommerce product.

Consultant

I worked in 800xA - Product Development. I worked for two products - Engineering Studio and Batch Management, part of the 800xA product family. Most of the product was written in C++ and used Active Template Library. I played the role of a Technical Project Manager doing release planning and monitoring via EVA (Earned Value Analysis / Burn down charts). I also contributed to code reviews during this period.

Project Manager

I worked mostly on ASP.NET web applications. My primary contributions were: * SPIDER web app maintenance for Sony BMG. * AML (Anti-money laundering) web app upgrade for RBC. I was a technical project manager during this period. I did code reviews and prototyping during this period.

I worked for Banking group for clients like Bank of America, Fidelity, Washington Mutual, etc. I was working onsite in client locations. There was no specific technology focus during this period. Most of the work involved gathering and analysing customer requirements and coordinating the work between the onsite and offshore teams.

Programmer Analyst

Worked on Acceliant, a clinical trial management product. The product was a web application developed using ASP (VBScript) and C++ (components). The database was Oracle 8i. I was working on providing "hotfix" releases as and when customer facing team reported urgent improvements after demos.

Senior Software Engineer

I was part of the Internet Technologies group. I contributed to writing proposals to get projects in Microsoft technology stack (ASP, COM). I worked onsite for two companies - Landmark Technologies and Global Crossing. For Landmark technologies, I worked onsite on product maintenance - SmartWatch: a performance monitoring tool. Landmark technologies shut down in Dec 2000. Later I worked onsite for CTI - a telephony product for Global Crossing. The project got delayed due to business reasons.

Software engineer

I used various JavaScript frameworks initially. Over time, I mastered the language slowly but steadily. Since 2016, I am full-time working on JavaScript, React and Node. Worked with ES6 extensively. And learnt quite a bit of JavaScript using Kyle Simpson's book series - You don't know JavaScript.

I started working with React since 2016. Since then, I worked on several React projects for various start-ups on a part-time basis. Used Redux and Mobx for state management. Used Enzyme, Jest or Mocha for unit testing. I am also familiar with GraphQL and used Apollo client.

Over 15 years of experience in .NET especially ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC. I have used C# extensively. I am comfortable with new language features - LINQ, Async, dynamic, etc. I worked for 18 months at Microsoft. However, I last used C# in 2016. Though I can understand and work on it, I am more interested in JavaScript, React and Node.

Server side JavaScript is something that I picked up by working in projects. Started out building APIs using Express and MongoDB. I have used GraphQL with Express. Most of work in server-side JavaScript is building API on an adhoc basis while working with React and React native.
