I've built microsites, full sites, web applications, and good HTML and CSS is key.  It can make your site crawl if this is not optimized appropriately.  Plus, design is not a negotiable factor, the front end build and design is how users interact with the web application and therefore must be well thought out.

PHP is how I started out, I worked on the front end of a PHP project.  Since then, through Wordpress, and then through Laravel, I built websites and now web applications using PHP.  Clean, object-oriented code is key, and the reason why I love Laravel so much.

AWS is the system we use everyday for our products at Music Bed.  We utilize EC2 instances for our servers, RDS for our databases, Route 53 for our DNS services, S3 for our filestorage, and cloudfront for our CDN.  I also have setup IAMs for our different developers and for special accounts when we need third-parties to access certain assets.

I use Git everyday and couldn't imagine going without it.  It is the VCS choice right now and it does it very well.  All of my projects, business, personal, whatever run through Git.

WordPress was one of the gateways to the web for me.  I used it to develop sites for several years.  At the agency I was at previous to my position at Music Bed, we used WordPress for our clients.

We use it every day at Music Bed and Film Supply.  I organize Laravel DFW, a meet up group specifically for Laravel in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas.  I have interviewed the creator of Laravel Taylor Otwell.  Work with other talented Laravel developers every day, and have attended Laracon.
