I've been building database backed web applications for almost ten years.  jQuery plugins, Angular directives, Ember components, and even React Native recently.  Building applications primarily for businesses and government projects based in the US.

Before Angular & Ember and the other frontend MVCC frameworks jQuery did alot of plumbing when it comes to processing and interacting with backend apis.  I've been using jQuery for over 10 years and still use jQuery libraries when the time is right.
