I've used Ruby primarily in association with the Ruby on Rails framework. However, I find Ruby so easy to work with that I also prefer it for writing command line scripts. Many of the command line tools I've written have been in Ruby.

Most of the JavaScript I write uses jQuery, CoffeeScript or both. I tend to use JavaScript as an aid to interactivity with the client, and not as the main vehicle by which to deliver an application.

List most people, I've written HTML and CSS in conjunction with one another since I began learning about the web. I primarily use it in conjunction with some other framework, like Ruby on Rails, Middleman, WordPress, etc.

I quickly moved from PHP/WordPress to Ruby on Rails as soon as I discovered it. I've been building all my database-driven application in Rails for the past three years or so. I've done everything from a simple website to an interactive app that helps you build complex technical manuals.

I use jQuery in conjunction with CoffeeScript, as I find it a nice and clean method for targeting selectors and performing actions on those selectors.

I've never used another version control system. Git was around when I was introduced to version control for code, and I've never looked elsewhere. I've even gotten myself into some sticky situations and git always seems to get me out of it!

I had to learn CoffeeScript when I took my current job, as that team was using it with their Ruby on Rails projects. The syntax was odd to me at first, but I got the hang of it and now I try to write with it whenever I can.

I had to learn Backbone when I took my current job, as that team was using it with their Ruby on Rails projects. It took awhile to get the hang of it, but now I love it. I've changed the way I use it. I tend to ignore models and collections, but have introduced a view-like set of components. I've found it easy to make code reusable by working in this way.

I spent a short time of my career in a marketing department for a construction company. I was introduced to SEO during that time and have spent some time with the subject since then. I've found a simple and straightforward approach to SEO is the way to go.
