Since I started working on a full stack, PHP was always my go to backend language. I know the ins and outs of how to write good object-oriented code with or without a framework, and how to navigate the documentation to find the elusive function.

JavaScript is a necessary tool in modern web development and, often times, a framework like Angular or jQuery can be very helpful. I have many years of experience with both vanilla JS and many different frameworks.

Learning the rules of HTML and CSS may seem easy at first, but a lot of work goes in to writing valid templates. Once the basics are accomplished, it'll be much easier to debug problems when testing legacy browsers and mobile devices.

I began using regular expressions to aide in the parsing of data. At first, I thought it would be impossible to memorize all of the archaic syntax. But, I instantly fell in love and answer questions on StackOverflow in my spare time.
