Performance is of utmost importance, i like to let the browser handle rendering and animations as much as possible without jQuery or bootstrap for stuff like modals and popups. I've done quite a lot of 3d transforms, animations, canvas and Svgs. 

Using node as a dev environment, spinning up local servers, running tools for testing, building and creating environment variables
