Work Experience
I decided to take a full-time job so I entered this project, which is the biggest Iāve worked, I took the initiative of developing new features as soon as possible so I could learn as a byproduct. After I managed to see the project holistically, I went further than merely completing tasks, but also improving several points of the project, including coding architecture, security, and atomicity. Now I have become the main developer.
Highlights of my contributions so far, I did the following without being asked to, by my own initiative:
- This complex project was hard to run locally, and now I have made it possible, so any developer only needs 2 commands.
- The previous code architecture was getting in the way of managing transactions easily between multiple data sources; now, we can just call a custom transaction function and put any db operation inside of it, easily.
- The frontend was running on Angular v7, Iāve carefully migrated to Angular v20 successfully.
- The project was not using SQL migrations, I brought that into table
- Project didnāt have unit tests, I also took care of that and created AI rules accordingly for faster development: unit tests now handle business logic.
- No env files anymore: Iāve moved all secrets to AWS Secret Manager and store in Kubernetes only the needed AWS credentials.
- Several other improvements, canāt list all here, eg. performance optimizations like middlewares fetching data in the database, but refactoring the code could fetch the same value inside JWT, etc.
Iāve developed some projects that use AI models like this one and other small projects. Most of my contributions were related to developing Apps that require integrations with AI models.
