Intern Software Engineer 

I have been programming in Java from my first year of university, which helped me secure my first "real" job working as an Intern Software Engineer at Airbus Group. It was fair to say that the work I had done at university did not prepare me for what it is like in the real world. From this point I have focused on making it my main programming language and now have 4 years enterprise experience in creating Java based web applications.

When I graduated university I landed in a role as a Backend Developer, creating Spring microservices. When I first started I had only heard of Spring, but had never used it. Since then I have taught myself the ins and outs of the Spring Framework, most recently learning about Spring Webflux to create reactive web applications. I have proven experience creating highly scalable and fault tolerant services as part of my career.

I was one of the first handful of people in my current employer to really get hands on with Kubernetes, and was involved in migrating all of 70 plus services to be cloud native and ready for Kubernetes deployments. I have enjoyed working with Kubernetes so much that I am now Certified Kubernetes Administrator, after passing an exam earlier this year.
