My responsibilities for the project are as follows:

• Leading a team of technical consultants to deliver comprehensive and innovative Business Intelligence solutions.

Senior Consultant (Microstrategy)

This was a project in finance domain with 600 users. My primary role was to migrate Microstrategy environment to a new server architecture. My other responsibilities for the project included:

• Acted as MicroStrategy expert to advise customers in defining MicroStrategy Roadmap, security guidelines and MicroStrategy architecture for Complex enterprise systems.
• Worked directly with the clients, prospects and partners to deliver high quality business intelligence solutions to the customers.
• Worked with users to gather requirements and conduct analysis.
• Assisted in test planning and execution of MicroStrategy environment
upgrade.
• Created functional and technical requirements as an input to application design.

Senior Developer

Asst Manager

This was a customer facing position which required focused accountability and strong personal interaction in potentially stressful situations. The customers were in-house Chartered Accountants spread across the globe (ANZ, Americas, Asia Pacific & EMEA). The direct user base, who accessed Microstrategy Web, was 1155 in total. The indirect user base, who received automated reports, was up to 3000 users. There were more than 100k reports in the production environment. Responsibilities were as follows:

• Interacted with business engagement teams to define dashboards and reporting solutions to meet diverse, complex business needs
• Created MicroStrategy schema and application objects such as Logical tables, attributes, facts, Hierarchies, metrics, prompts, filters, consolidations and custom groups.
• Worked on Microstrategy Administration Tools like Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Enterprise Manager Console, License manager, SDK, Configuration Manager and Command Manager.
• Scheduling and maintenance of reports/documents using Narrowcast and Distribution Services.
• Liaised with vendor support contacts for the resolution of bugs.
• Working in the full life cycle development process, which includes analysis,
design, development and testing.

The BI was built on Insurance data warehouse and the tool used in this project was an in-house legacy tool called Platinum InfoReports. The ETL tool used was SSIS. Responsibilities were as follows:

• Extensively used SSIS Import/Export Wizard for performing the ETL operations.
• Creation of SSIS packages in Development to replicate all the data flow tasks that were present in DTS packages.
• Developed, monitored and deployed SSIS packages.
• Performed database transfers and queries tune-up, integrity verification, data
cleansing, analysis and interpretation.
• Developed stored procedures to transform the data from enterprise data warehouse to data mart to build dimensions and load data to fact tables.
• Creation of VB.net code for SSIS package which would perform the task as Perl scripts written for DTS packages.
• Handled the weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting process on an ongoing basis using BI tool.
• Resolved work tickets / requests, related to report design, new report setup or data issue, raised by business users.
• Maintenance of the InfoReports BI Platform.
• Monitored batch jobs (around 35) scheduled to run on UNIX server every day.
• Resolved failures by re-running or fixing jobs using basic shell scripting.
