I have 10 years of experience coding in PHP and still work with it daily. During this time I've worked on several high-traffic projects that have given me the opportunity to work with multiple frameworks including Laravel, Zend Framework, Symfony,  Codeignitier and more. I'm currently the CTO of a new startup making use of PHP7 and Laravel. I try my best to push PSR standards where I can, and am a regular attendee of PHP usergroups.

I have been creating websites since I was a teenager in school, in what was technologically the Jurassic era. I will be comfortable helping with any HTML/CSS-related issues.

I have extensive experience using JavaScript, as it has been an ever-present technology throughout my career. My day-to-day experience using JavaScript is primarily front-end, but I have enjoyed delving beyond and making use of OPA and Nodejs.

I've enjoyed making extensive of use of JQuery for many years and have even developed my own plugins.

I have been responsible for managing very large databases, in the order of hundreds of millions of rows, while still delivering high-performance to the end-user. 

I have extensive experience of web scraping, and have seeded many websites' databases, some of which are updated on a regular basis, and I have built websites where live price comparison depended on a reliable service.

I have interviewed many dozens of candidates in my previous job, and so am confident in my ability to provide relevant feedback from the perspective of an employer. I was most-often interviewing for PHP-based roles but SEO based interviews were often common. 

I am happy to provide mock interviews.

I am very comfortable with *nix system administration. 

I am currently responsible for the smooth running of multiple servers.

I have used Python for many projects, primarily for use with the web framework Django. I have also extensively used it for web scraping.

I've built many interesting applications using Java, ranging from simple games to OCR-based card counters and cryptography simulations.

I have experience of conducting professional user testing of websites for large clients.

I have experience creating many scripts in shell/bash to eliminate repetitive work, saving countless hours.

My knowledge of git comes from trial by fire, and my appreciation comes from the amount of times its use has saved the day, and for the time it saves. it is a great step up from using FTP to transfer files, and would be happy to help anyone who is looking to get started with it, who is creating a workflow involving push to deploy, or who has configuration issues.

I have a keen interest in the Blockchain and the technologies it has enabled. While a complicated field, I believe I should be able to help with many people wishing to get started.
