I help organizations develop and implement data strategies and architectures. These include choosing the correct tools for each project given its goals, restrictions, and other context, as well as non-functional requirements.

I help organizations analyze many kinds of data. I can use mathematical, economical, and statistical models using Python or R. The results can be communicated through meetings, documents, dashboards, alerts, and other tools.

1st place for the 2014 National Data Science Contest in Mexico. It was organized by Mexico's Presidential Office. I was part of a team of two people and focused on creating a prototype for an emergency system that used Twitter's data to detect ongoing events and provided ways to coordinate authorities if needed.

Most of the time clients prefer explaining data with visualizations, as it makes it much more intuitive to understand what's going on. Good data visualizations are easily understood and convey a specific argument. I can help clients visualize various types of data in creative and effective ways.

I have a BSc in Mathematics with a focus on Statistics, and Machine Learning. I can work through all phases of machine learning pojects, as well as explain how they work and how to develop ensembles. My current research area of interest is on distributed machine learning.

I've helped organizations develop data platforms that makes use of simple dashboards to constantly report results as well as complex interfaces for machine learning implementations in the backend. I like using Python and TypeScript to create these web applications, but I can adapt to other technologies quickly.

I have solid knowledge about Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) techniques and patterns. I can help you understand when specific patterns are useful and trade-offs among them. I can help you with code reviews to make sure your code follows SOLID principles, is easily maintainable, flexible and robust.

At Datata we have created complex data applications that require different components from the Google Cloud Platform. We have used Google App Engine in combination with Google Container Engine to allow for C extensions while using Python, and Google Cloud SQL and Google Cloud Storage for data persistence.

I mostly use Python for web development and scientific computing. I like to develop  data analysis modules that make us of REST APIs and execute machine learning algorithms for predictive analysis. I have knowledge in object-oriented design patterns and architecture, and and I'm currently working on my functional and reactive programming skills.

I can use R in combination with REST APIs to analysis. I've also developed algorithms for geographic data visualization coming from Twitter and enterprise sources. I use R as the main language for Economics and Statistics research at ITAM, and I recently published a book about R Programming (links.otrenav.com/r-programming-by-example).

The MVP for CVEST (cvest.tech) was developed with TypeScript both in the frontend as well as the backend. I prefer TypeScript much more than JavaScript because it communicates intention in a more clear manner, and allows me to stay away from various uncommon object-oriented parts in JavaScript.

I use JavaScript to automate data visualization on dashboards. I've worked with Angular2, jQuery, Google Analytics, Clicky, and Google Charts, among other tools. I mostly use it for front end development.

I've used Angular to create basic dashboards for project management, and I'm using it to build startup products that to provide seamless experiences across a variety of platforms.

At Datata we use Django for back ends. It is used to handle heavy numerical computations and provide dynamic seamless experience for users. Django communicates to the front end framework using REST APIs and asynchronous programming. I deployed a couple of Django applicatoins to Google Cloud.

I'm a big fan of making beautiful dynamic responsive websites. This means that I care about websites being usable both on desktop browsers as well as on mobile devices. I've also developed analytics websites that use HTML and CSS templating and have integrations with Google Charts, for example.

I use Git everyday for all my projects. I can handle large code bases with it and know how to setup various kinds of hooks. In one of our projects we are using Git hooks in a Continuous Integration setup that provides constant testing of our code.

I use Latex to write scientific documents for mathematically related areas such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, and Machine Learning. I can create visually appealing documents with good resource management (images, tables, etc) in a well organized manner, and I can create scientific-looking presentations.

I've been working with Agile methodologies for some time now. I have strong fundamentals in them and can adapt them to fit client's specific contexts and teams. These methodologies are designed to help projects achieve good result in the face of uncertainty.

I've built micro-services ML global platforms used by some of the largest telecommunications companies in the world.

I've designed and implemented algorithms for over 10 years. Mostly focused on data analysis and Statistics, but also done a lot of optimization and Operations Research.
