I am currently working with the MarsBased web development agency primarily as a back-end developer using Ruby on Rails, but also contributing to Angular projects.

Developer

I was a Dineyo co-founder together with 3 other partners. I took part in all the shaping and decision making of the startup and I was in charge of driving the implementation of the technological infrastructure, which mainly consisted on a web app and a mobile app. I also took active part in the development of the web application.

Chief Technology Officer

I was the teacher for the first week of the web bootcamp in Barcelona, teaching students about the Ruby programming language, mentoring them after class and helping them with their assignments.

Camaloon is an e-commerce platform built from scratch (it does not use any library such as Solidus). I was part of the back-end development team composed of 6 members. I got experience on how to organize a team and split tasks, do code reviews, merge work from others etc. I also got a lot of experience in testing and writing clean code.

Involved in the development of a search engine, Omby. During this project I had the chance to work with a team of developers and apply some best practices, such as make extensive use of adavnced git features (branching, pull requests, rebasing, etc.) and adapting to certain code conventions. I have worked with several technologies, such as Redis and memcahced.

Ruby on Rails Developer

I have been working with Ruby on Rails since Rails v2 in the development of several web applications, both as a freelancer, on a startup I co-founed and working for several companies. During this time I have also been learning both the language and the framework in-depth by reading, exploring its source code, practicing and following the industry leaders (like Railscasts in its time, RubyTapas, Shopify and Github).

Ruby has been my primary programming language during pretty much all my career. I have been using it primarily on a Ruby on Rails context, but also to write stand-alone scripts and other non-web related code. Since I started using the language I fell in love with it and have since then been practicing and learning more. I have read several books about Ruby (like the Pickaxe) and follow industry leaders (like RubyTapas).

I have been using Git every day as my only tool for version control management for all my career. I have used it both for personal projects and as part of a large team, using the git-flow methodology. I am familiar in working with branches, pull requests, rebasing, etc.

I have been using SQL in the day-to-day since college. I have mostly used PostgreSQL although I have also used MySQL in a few projects. Through the years I have gained a lot of practical experience, especially in performing complex queries.

I have been using Javascript in the day-to-day during my career as it's an important part of web-development projects. Although I have worked primarily in the back-end side of web applications, I have been in charge of building the front-end for some projects. Specifically, I have built some Angular single page applications.

I have also worked a little bit with NodeJS. Even though I don't have a lot of experience with it I can find my way around.

I am familiar with programming in an asychrnous way and making use of promises

I have been in charge of building a single page application using Angular in a few complex projects. I know how to create and structure an Angular app and I have had to build complex components to support non-trival UIs, making use of advanced Angualr features.
