I've technically been writing HTML since the days of NCSA Mosaic. I did my first formal web pages about 22 years ago. I haven't focused in this area and wouldn't call myself an expert. However, I'm able to explain some aspects of both static and dynamic webdev and have started to do responsive sites.

I've been coding in 'C' for 40 years as of 2016, so I suppose that I have a reasonable amount of experience with the language.

My first major SQL project was with Northrop Grumman on the MILES fighter-jet project. The codebase included both new modules and modified Open Source frameworks. The core was a Perl server, written from scratch, that collected binary data from upstream devices, stored data using SQL, and relayed it to client software as XML over HTTP. Client software included both standard web browsers and a Java GUI. The system generated its own documentation and outputted the documentation in HTML, PDF, and text format. The project included a hardware simulator written in Perl. MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite3 were all supported
as database back-ends.

I've been coding in Perl since the late 1980s. Do a Google search for recursive math parser and I should appear before Wikipedia for a related Perl project. If you go to perlcoder.net that is me. Perl has always struck me as the perfect language; powerful, flexible, and the natural successor to 'C'.

If there's a place to submit my resume, it'll be simpler to explain where I fit into DevOps. For decades, I worked on any project of any type that came along. I served as a developer, tech writer, IT, B2B support, project manager, and in a dozen other areas. My job was simply to make things work. Today, I'm told, there is no term for what I do other than generalist, a word that is out of favor, or DevOps.

I've been writing shell scripts, using sh and subsequently bash, for 40 years as of 2016.
