I'll start with my Elance review. The original may be viewed online at the following link:

“OldCoder was meticulous in his communication. His knowledge of the field was second to none. He was a pleasure to work with and his calm, methodical approach served to provide focus in a time of stress and tight deadlines. I would have no hesitation in recommending OldCoder for any coding project big or small. I have no doubt he is capable of anything in this area. I can't thank him enough and am indebted to him.”

I'm a generalist with an Agile background. I've executed 100s of successful projects in dozens of areas.

From the 1980s on, every project was different. I maintained the software that processed 50% of the U.S. vote at one point. Designed one of Adobe's protocol stacks. Accounting system for a property management firm. I did the camera that the DTIC used to convert microfilm to microfiche.

I've contributed to compilers, assemblers, source code analyzers, source code generators, PC BIOS, anti-virus, GUI layers for CLI tools, custom servers, multimedia tools, device drivers, Linux kernel patches, SQL frameworks, stock portfolio analysis systems, FOSS games, and numerous utilities of different types.

Over the past 20 years, I've moved into Open Source and I use it where practical. I maintain my own Linux distro. My most significant project of recent years, the Northrop Grumman fighter jet system mentioned on my resume, was based on Open Source code of different types.

My conversational style is detailed and precise. If I'm asked a question, I answer it completely if possible. I work well with people who are comfortable with a style of this type; both managers and people that I manage. In fact, I've been considered a mentor for decades.
