During my time at CrowdEngine, among other things, I designed and built a dynamic system for managing investor compliance throughout the equity crowdfunding process. This tool was directly responsible for the acquisition of many big clients resulting in dramatic increase in income for the company during the time I was there and long after I left.

Lead Ruby on Rails Developer

While at Bluehost I helped start a new department called Professional Service under the direction of the CEO. We developed and introduced 4 new services that where offered to all Bluehost customers including a website transfer services, a website malware removal services, a service to help customers learn how to build websites, and a website speed optimization service. These services generated generated over $1mil gross revenue during the first 10 months of the department.

I designed and built the management tools used by our new department and team to maximize efficiency and enforce policy, and then integrated them into the existing Bluehost internal application

 Also while at Bluehost I refactored the script we used for malware detection and automated server maintenance on all 3000+ shared servers in our data center. This script ran at least once per week on each shared server and scanned nearly every line of every file on the box. After refactoring the runtime was reduced to 30% the runtime of the original script.

I've worked on Ruby apps of all shapes and sizes. Including multi tenanted SaaS apps with a lot of complexity under the hood. I am familiar with many of the growing pains they often have, and how to solve them.

Althought I spend a lot of my time working with Javascript, I still think Rails is the king of web apps when it comes to speed of development, so it can be the right tool for the job for many projects.

I love javascript. I especially love react and find myself focusing more and more on frontend because I value user experience so much. But I also have lots of experience with Node.js on the backend including working with webpack and babel. 

I've been working with docker for a few years now. These days everything I do now lives in docker containers.

Steamleft had over 650,000 unique visitors, and 500,000 participating users in its first week. It was featured on PCGamer, Kotaku, The Escapist, and dozens of more online outlets.

Steamleft is a webapp that aggregates and compares data between your personal Steam API and HowLongToBeat's data to estimate how much time it would take to beat your entire Steam library. It also provides hilarious alternatives for what you could be doing with your time, like reading The Hobbit or running across the United States a certain number of times.

Meal Meter is an app to help people develop beter eating habits. It lets users enter goals and then after each meal they can evaluate how well they followed each goal giving them personal accountability and helping them become more mindful about their meal choices.

Meal Meter is built with React Native and is available in the Apple App Store.

Meal Meter

This website allows missionaries to create a custom printed book from their emails. It integrates with the Gmail and Blogger apis allowing users to import. There is some basic image processing allowing users to customize cover designs and add extra attachments to emails if they want.

The app then sends the data to a docker container which processes all the emails into one ready to print PDF file which is sent to the printing service.
