I've been the lead maintainer of RSpec since 2012 and a regular contributor to the project since 2010.  It's not an exaggeration to say that I'm the world's leading expert on RSpec.  I know more about how it works and how to use it well than anyone else.

I taught myself ruby in 2007 and have used it as my main language ever since.  I know the nooks and crannies of the language very well and am well known in the ruby community as the maintainer of RSpec and the creator of the VCR gem.

I taught myself Ruby on Rails in 2007 (at the time, Rails 1.2 was the current version).  I've built a few different rails apps both at multiple different companies.  Recently, I've been building ruby apps at Moz that don't use Rails, but I still know Rails well and can advise.  I also have commits in Rails:

I picked up TDD early in my career (in 2005) while doing .NET.  I've continually gotten better at it and it's the primary way I develop code.  In addition, I created the VCR gem as a tool to help with TDDing HTTP-dependent code, and it has now been ported into Groovy, Python, Elixir, Clojure, .NET, node, Erlang, PHP, objective C and more.

RSpec and cucumber are probably the most famous BDD tools out there, and I have extensive experience with both.

I started using git in January 2009.  I've used it almost every day since.  I'm a regular contributor to open source ruby projects.  I understand git's datamodel very well and regularly massage commits before pushing using git's more advanced features.

I first learned SQL as part of my job working in the finance office of the university I attended in 2000-2004.  I used Oracle at that job but since then I've used SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL.   I know how to model relational data well.

We use MySQL for all our relational database needs at Moz.  On my current project, our production cluster has 128 MySQL servers, over 500,000 individual databases, and we build and destroy about 100,000 databases per day.  

At Moz, we use redis extensively.  I've successfully used it on multiple projects and have used some of the more recent advanced features like lua scripting.

I used riak to build a system at Moz that collects and stores large millions of rankings records per day.  As part of building that, I contributed to the ruby riak client and the ripple ORM, and wound up on the core team for those projects.
