Macy A.

Seven years ago with both his BA and BS hot off the presses, Macy began work as one of many web developers at a California-based startup. Within months, he progressed to managing large teams of engineers in building feature-rich web applications on a massive scale. He rose quickly through the ranks in part because of his unique ability to communicate with people about software, regardless of their technical acumen. Thirsting for a more diverse array of projects, Macy set out on his own, founding CodeCaptain: a web development services company which marshalls a team of developers who are passionate about code to offer clients mobile and web application solutions.

At CodeCaptain, Macy:

• Communicates with clients about project specifications, status, and implementation;
• Reviews and designs team code;
• Develops primarily front-end JavaScript web and mobile solutions; and
• Wears all the other hats necessary to run an efficient, quickly-growing business.

Macy has developed a large, full-stack, technical skill set in order to build a wide variety of products. Assuming the lead role on development, Macy oversees both front and back end development. He has progressed in JavaScript development for over ten years, gaining adeptness at jQuery, ExtJs, Sencha Touch, Bootstrap, and most recently, famo.us. Additionally, he has years of experience working on the backend, primarily with PHP and .NET, as well as with *SQL and distributed caching technologies such as Memcached and Redis. He is comfortable configuring and administering cloud deployments in any environment but has the most experience with EC2 and Joyent.
