I have spent many years working in JavaScript. I've seen a lot changes happen over the years and with them, i've learned to adapt and grow. My particular interests involve focusing on framework and library-agnostic approaches to solving programming problems. This includes design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and syntax. I tend to prefer lower-level solutions that are extensible, clean, and well-tested.

I've worked extensively in HTML for nearly a decade. I've been exposed to early versions of XHTML, HTML, and DHTML. As a companion to HTML, my experience with CSS has been equally extensive. Most of my work in HTML and CSS today is done by memory and I have successfully developed and maintained websites and web applications that receive millions of hits per day. I tend to prefer remaining cognizant of XHTML and its influence, syntactically, on HTML.

I have been working in Node.js for some time and I have exposure to a variety of libraries and frameworks including Kraken.js, express.js, Geddy, Sails, and Connect. I tend to prefer lower-level solutions that are well-written and extensible, so I tend to start with a fresh node stack. I am well-versed in the concepts of single-threaded, asynchronous programming in JavaScript and modular development.

I have many years experience working in jQuery as my primary JavaScript library for functional programming and DOM traversal, manipulation, and management. I know most of the API for jQuery by memory and tend to prefer it over other solutions. 

I also have experience with moving away from jQuery into more native JavaScript as browser support issues diminish.

I have used Git for version control and social coding. I tend to prefer GUIs for managing complex repositories, but I am familiar with using Git from a command line as well.

I am familiar with and have maintained applications that used Backbone.js.

Though this is a new technology, I have been working closely in webpack recently and tend to prefer it over other build systems for front-end development.

Since the development of Fiber.js at LinkedIn, I've had the opportunity to work closely with the team that maintained the library. I am a big fan of Fiber.js in ES5.

I use Dust.js on a daily basis at my employer - where this library was developed and is still maintained - for client-side and server-side templating.

I have used Grunt.js in the past and though I tend to prefer other build systems like gulp, broccoli, and webpack, I am familiar with Grunt's approach and do still stumble onto it from time to time.

I am an active user of SVN on a daily basis and have used SVN for several years across different companies.

I am working in ES6 and am actively building projects in ES6 currently.
