I use JavaScript on a daily basis for both work and leisure development. I consider myself a near expert in this language and have learned more than my fair share of tips and tricks for cross browser scripting and security.

I have always kept myself up to date on the latest HTML standards and eagerly awaiting the day when HTML5 replaces all inferior versions.

Has PHP really been around 21 years! That just makes me feel old. I remember building my first PHP/FI application - a pizza ordering web site for a friend who wanted to "break into the web". Although I no longer use PHP in my professional life, I am still an avid WordPress user creating plugins and themes (though admittedly not as much as in the past).

I began using jQuery for leisure programming and eventually convinced an employer to switch from prototype.js to jQuery. Although I no longer use it in my professional career, I keep up with my WordPress development on all the web sites I manage for myself, family and friends.

I have used MySQL at a large number of my previous jobs, though no longer using it professionally today. I have experience with optimizing queries, indexing, replication, and a spattering of knowledge on spatial indexes.

I began using WordPress for my personal blog with version 1.2 and continue to use it on nearly 30 sites to date. I have developed many plugins (though support has waned since going to work full time again) and themes. For several years I ran a successful business hosting web sites with WordPress, and continue to do custom development for my own use as well as for a few die hard clients.

I began using Yui3 professionally with my latest employment and have quickly learned quite a few tips and tricks. I have become somewhat of a Subject Matter Expert and have been asked to mentor new developers in the company to get them started developing with YUI3.
