Python is by far my favorite language. I've used Python for projects from command line to web apps. I know how to structure Python code on disk and am comfortable writing automated tests for it.

I'm familiar with bare Javascript and with jQuery. jQuery makes it pleasant. :)

I started working in web development in 1996 with the US Geological Survey. I'm solid on HTML and CSS.

I have been writing, maintaining, refactoring and deploying PHP web apps for 16 years.

I've been working with MySQL for 14 years, PostgreSQL for 10 years, and SQLite for somewhere around 7 years.

A mix of Linux chops, automated deployment, and continuous integration.

I graduated from "developer" to "software engineer" about 7 years ago. I'm a huge believer in automated testing, code review, and continuous integration. I've seen good engineering practice lead to huge code quality improvements more than once, and I'd love to help you with it, or just help you learn the tools.

I've been using Agile methodologies for the last four jobs, and I have a good knowledge of a lot of tools involved (Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, etc).

I have been using Linux since 1994 as both a desktop and server OS. I've used it on nearly all architectures, including the Raspberry Pi, random routers, and even SPARC back in the day.

I have been an OS X power user for 11 years. I'm very familiar with the command line and with tools such as homebrew which allow Mac users to enjoy the full spectrum of open source software.
