Summary
I am an experienced Data Scientist with experience in Insurance, Banking and Financial Services. I have experience developing applications using python, javascript, php etc. I have worked on tensorflow and keras to build deep learning algorithms. I have a strong business acumen from my experiences. I am currently completing my research project towards a masters in computer science - specialising in Ai. The project is on open banking, microservices and classification using ML. I also hold a bachelors degree in actuarial science. I have more than 8 years experience leading teams and mentoring junior scientists. In my current role I am responsible for all credit decisions and transforming the business from tradional scoring systems to automated AI systems.
Work Experience
- I am responsible for developing scoring models for all products, across all the countries.
- I designed a micro loan product - design, architecture, and implementation.
- I am the bridge between the business and third-party service providers who host/deploy our cloud infrastructure.
- I report to exco monthly on the status of our risk rating.
⮚ I have done work for a media marketing company based in the US. Some of the projects I did include Metrics That Matter, Mix Market Modelling, Business Intelligence and other ad hoc tasks.
⮚ I developed Stay-Ai, a Machine Learning HR software that predicts when employees will quit their jobs, helping HR managers take preventative actions to stop key employees from leaving the company. I wrote the algorithms in python and some of the packages I used are Sklearn for machine learning, NumPy and Pandas for handling Data Frames, and making mathematical and data processing operations.
⮚ I developed a software for the only profitable business incubation company in Africa that predicts an aspiring entrepreneur’s ability to succeed. For the same company, which has become a retainer client, I developed several other financial models that they use monthly. The tools described here are all desktop apps developed using a python library named TKinker GUI for Python.
⮚ I developed compliance standards for a company that provides software as a service (SaaS) in the funeral industry. These standards helped them to relate more with insurance companies and that resulted in them increasing their business.
This SaaS Company had large volumes of data that they were not profiting from. Part of the work I did was to extract Business Intelligence out of this data and make recommendations to generate new products and new business, within the company and with external partners.
