Senior Software Engineer

As a (full-stack) software engineer, I  was mostly focused on implementing and maintaining systems' features  through a really rich stack: Ruby, Elixir & JavaScript; Rails &  React; Postgres data-stores; Heroku; and other incredible tools &  technologies and software engineering processes.

Software Engineer

I joined the Geekie Games team in which  we worked upon a collection of microservices and API endpoints  developed with and maintained in different frameworks – though most of  them are implemented in Python + Flask/Pyramid + SQLAlchemy/MongoEngine.  Our data stores are in different technologies, ranging from MongoDB,  PostgreSQL, and Redis.

In the front-end, we used React,  AngularJS, Flux, Redux, ES5 and ES6, Webpack, Browserify, Gulp, and  other (loved) tools, frameworks, and (CSS) preprocessors. I also  adventured myself into Android (native) application  development/maintenance for some small features. Engineers there also  created BI (Business Intelligence) deliverables. Deployments used to  occur in Heroku, AWS (mostly Beanstalk) and we also used a custom  configuration using Kubernetes and Docker. We used to rely on git-based  respositories; we did code review; and we were an  Agile-KanBan-Scrum-driven team.

Throughout 2016, Geekie Games  held a partnership with the Ministry of Education, Brazil, through the  "Hora do ENEM" program, which selected Geekie Games platform as the  official virtual environment to prepare high school students for the  national exam ENEM (English: National High School Exam), an entrance  examination of higher education in Brazil. The platform reached more  than 4M Brazilian students and more than 96% of Brazilian  municipalities.

Senior Full-stack Software Engineer

I have created several solutions using JavaScript, be it on front-end, back-end and mobile apps (through React Native). I really love the flexibility provided by the language and its ecosystem.

I have worked with Python as both a possibility for the back-end and also as a tool for Data Science. I really love to work with amazing and flexible language.

Ruby is one of my favorite languages, which makes programming fun and clever. I also created the most popular open-source project of mine in Ruby: sequel-seed, a Sequel extension to make seeds/fixtures manageable like migrations.

I have created some small systems using Go as web language; like an OAuth 2 provider (named `space`, available as an open-source project in my GitHub). Go is a great and powerful language.

Elixir was created as a resemblance of the Ruby language for the Erlang machine. Since Ruby is one of my favorite languages, it was almost easy to learn Elixir at first – almost because Elixir requests a good understanding of a pure functional programming style. Elixir and its ecosystm is equally fun to program just like Ruby is.

I have touched several SQL-based database management system (DBMS): Postgresql (my favorite one); MySQL and its open-source alternative MariaDB.

I have touched several NoSQL-based solutions, like Redis, MongoDB and AWS' DynamoDB.
