 Lead Developer

I have worked as a professional web developer since 2012. Specifically, the jobs I've had have focused around building custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up.

Building custom solutions in WordPress has familiarized me with PHP. I have written API wrappers, integrated different libraries into plugins, etc. I am familiar with using composer to manage dependencies.

Being a full-stack web developer, I frequently use JavaScript and jQuery for front-end development. I do a lot of JSON parsing, AJAX loading, and API implementation. Gulp is my preferred build system for personal and professional projects.

I have some personal and professional experience with Vue and React. 

Most websites that I have built have utilized a MySQL database. I have experience building and working with custom relational tables and am very familiar with the WordPress DB structure as well.

I use git regularly in my day-to-day, as well as for my hobby projects. I'm very familiar with the basics, as well as some of the more nuanced intricacies.

I have been using Ubuntu as my primary operating system since 2009, I host my personal websites on a self managed Ubuntu VPS, I managed the MusicIDB custom webserver before we switched to Beanstalk, and I managed  3 CentOS VPSes hosting client websites at my last job. 

I use Go for many of my hobby projects and scripting needs. 
I also built a production API on AWS Lambda in Go.

Clean Theme is an intentionally minimalist base theme for professional WordPress developers. It is the theme that I built this website with, and it’s what I use for my own WordPress projects. It is a stripped down WordPress theme created to be used as a project starting point.

Clean Theme

Terminus is a free, open source game engine for building simple terminal games that I created as a hobby project using Go. The engine is built on top of tcell.

I built it for myself as a fun learning experience and in order to create a flexible, easy-to-use, cross-platform engine that I can use for building games for the command line.
