Ruby is my favorite language!  I love its expressiveness and have taken a course on it, read at least 3 books about it, and work using it daily.  

I've used Javascript in nearly every web-application I've used in the past several years, as well as in extensions for Google's Chrome web-browser.

Java was the first language I learned, and I've been using it ever since.  My favorite place to use it right now is for Android, cause Android is awesome and Android Studio is even more awesome.  With this many years of experience, I've seen plenty of common mistakes and error messages and would be very comfortable tutoring some one with this language.

I use Unix daily in many of its forms.  At home I use an Ubuntu machine to code, at work we have Fedora machines, and of course Amazon EC2 instances can run many different distros - of course I usually use the Amazon Linux AMI.
